Leider hatten wir bis jetzt nicht wirklich viel vom Sommer. Das hat sich aber diese Woche Gott sei Dank geändert.
Unfortunately summer has kept us waiting for quite a while now. Luckily, it finally arrived this week!
Dennoch musste ich bei unseren letzten Aufnahmen einfach zu meinen Cashmere Poncho greifen und kombinierte den Look mit einer leichten Sommerbluse und meiner fast nie getragenen Schlaghose von Hugo Boss. Der Hut musste auch noch aufgesetzt werden, es regnete zeitweise in Strömen und die roten Schuhe, ein Schnäppchen aus Rom, die ich unbedingt haben musste und sie noch nie getragen habe, kramte ich auch noch hervor.
Still I felt like putting on my cashmere poncho during our last shoot and combined it with my light summer blouse and my almost as good as new trousers by Hugo Boss. Put on my hat and while it rained like crazy I went and got my red shoes, a bargain from Rome, I absolutely had to have them but only wore them for the first time just now!
Zu den roten Schuhen gibt es noch eine lustige Geschichte, die ich Euch unbedingt erzählen möchte.
In Rom gibt es ein fantastisches Schuhgeschäft. Es befindet sich direkt hinter dem Fontana di Trevi und dieser Laden hat die tollsten Lederschuhe und Stiefeln zu sehr modalen Preisen, viele meiner Schuhe und Stiefeln kaufe ich hier ein!
There’s acutally a funny story about those shoes that I’d like to share with you.
I found an amazing shoe store in Rome. Located right behind Fontana di Trevi it has lots of amazing leather shoes and boots in store, all for very moderate prices. Most of my shoes and boots come from here!
Vor ein paar Jahren hatten wir eine Mittelmeerkreuzfahrt gebucht und waren unter Anderem auch in Rom. Natürlich auch im Schuhladen, leider waren wir mit der Zeit schon sehr knapp und ich konnte mich einfach nicht entscheiden, welches Paar Loafers ich mitnehmen sollte.
A few years ago we went on a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea and one of the cities we stopped at was Rome. Of course we also stopped at the shoe store, unfortunately we were already in a hurry and I just could not make up my mind about which pair of loafers I wanted.
Unsere Freunde waren schon sehr ungeduldig und meinten ich sollte mich nun doch endlich entscheiden. Das tat ich dann auch, indem ich gleich drei Paar Schuhe und ein Paar Stiefeln mitnahm. Nur leider war es schon so spät, dass wir um ein Haar unseren Zug versäumten, der uns zum Hafen brachte.
Our friends started to get impatient and said that I should get a move on and make my decision. Well, so I did. Instead of one pair I bought three pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. At that point we were so late that we almost missed our train back to the ship.
Als wir dann aus dem Zug stiegen, waren keine Passagiere mehr zu sehen, Panik kam hoch, denn Kreuzfahrtschiffe warten bekanntlicherweise nicht! Schwitzend und keuchend rannten wir den Pier entlang – im Schlepptau meine vier Schuhkartons – und in letzter Minute erreichten wir unser Schiff. Wir waren wirklich die letzten Passagiere, die an Bord gingen und hätten nur knapp den Dampfer verpasst und das nur wegen einem Paar roter Schuhe!
As we got off the train there were no other passengers around our ship. We started to panic a little, cruise ships naturally don’t wait for missing passengers! So we ran across the pier – still carrying four shoeboxes – and with but a minute to spare we reached our ship. We really were the last few passengers boarding the ship, a minute later and we would have missed it – all that just for a pair of red shoes!
