Hintergrund / Background

Wie der Name schon verrät handelt es sich hier um österreichische Kosmetik* vom Feinsten. Bezugnehmend auf die Habsburger-Familie (wohl DAS Aushängeschild unserer Vergangenheit) wurde die Pflegelinie nach Kaiserin Elisabeth und Kaiser Franz Joseph I. benannt.

siin life – Kopf der Marke – wurde 2011 gegründet und steht für österreichische Qualität. „Made for Beauty. Made in Austria.“ lautet der Slogan von siin life und die Produkte von Sisi and Joe repräsentieren ihn bestens.

As you may have guessed from the name, this is Austrian cosmetics* at its best. The company was named after people of the Habsburger-family (probably the most well-known piece of history of Austria) namely Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I.

Inhaltsstoffe / Ingredients

„100% natürlich, 100% vegan, 100% ohne Tierversuche und das alles made in Austria.“

lautet das Motto von Sisi and Joe. Schon länger auf unserem Instagram-Radar, entdeckte ich die Produkte neulich bei DM und wollte sie nun endgültig probieren. Allerding stolperte ich bei dem Bad-und Duschgel über das leidige Thema Palmöl. Nach Rückfrage wurde uns versichert, dass man höchsten Wert auf nachhaltige Inhaltsstoffe legt. Verwendet wird kein direktes Palmöl, sondern Palmöl-Derivate. Hier wird allerdings darauf geachtet, nur Rohstoffe aus zertifiziertem und nachhaltig angebautem Palmöl einzusetzen.

is the motto for Sisi and Joe. They’ve been on our Instagram-radar for a while, not long ago I found a few of their products at DM and decided that it was about time to give them a go. Unfortunately I came across the controversial subject of palm oil in the bathing- and showering gel. After further enquiry they ensured us that they attach great value to sustainable ingredients. Not direct palm oil, rather palm oil derivatives are used. With those they make sure to only use raw ingredients of certified sustainable palm oil.

Reinigungsgel / Cleaning gel

Angewendet wird das Gel wie die meisten herkömmlichen Produkte: Auf dem Gesicht verteilen, aufschäumen, einmassieren, abspülen – fertig. Ist herrlich unkompliziert und duftet wie die gesamte Serie ungewöhnlich, aber frisch und nicht aufdringlich.

You use this gel like most other products: Apply it to your face, spread it around until it starts to foam, massage it into the skin, rinse – and you’re done. It’s nice and uncomplicated, smells lovely and unusual – like the entire line – but never intrusive.

Bad- und Duschgel / Bathing- and showergel

Mehr als 40 Wirkstoffe wurden in dem Fläschchen verpackt, reinigen, beleben und machen die tägliche Dusche zu einem Beauty-Ritual.

They packed more than 40 active agents into this tiny bottle, which all aid the gel in cleaning your body, revitalizing it and turning the everyday shower into a beauty-ritual.

Tagescreme / Daycream

Anfangs war ich skeptisch, da ich sehr trockene Haut habe und es keine extra Creme für diesen Hauttyp gibt. Allerdings wurde ich positiv überrascht. Sie zieht schnell ein und versorgt das Gesicht ausreichend. Man hat nach der Anwendung ein gepflegtes Gefühl.

At first I was a bit sceptical because my skin tends to be very dry and there’s no special cream for this type of skin. I was positively surprised though. It is absorbed by the skin rather quickly and supplies the skin with everything it needs. After using this cream your skin feels very neat.

Fazit / Conclusion

Anfangs ist der Duft sehr ungewohnt, da er nicht den üblichen Klischees entspricht. Nach einer kurzen Gewöhnungsphase liebe ich den Geruch mittlerweile, weil er nicht aufdringlich, jedoch frisch und vor allem natürlich ist. Die Haut wird ausreichend versorgt, aber nicht überpflegt und die Produkte entspannen beim täglichen Badezimmer-Besuch. Also genau wie es sein soll.

At first the scent feels rather unusual, it simply does not adhere to any clichés. It took some getting used to but now I actually love the smell, because it is anything but brash – just fresh and, most of all, natural. Your skin gets exactly what it needs, no more, no less, and all the products make the time in the shower as relaxing as it can be. Just the way it’s supposed to be.
